Field House Farms is a diverse operation consisting of 6.5 acres of malting grains, a small vineyard, one established and one new orchard, numerous assorted perennial fruits, a small flock of laying hens, ¼ acre of market gardens and an unheated greenhouse for year-round production.
The farm’s production plan is structured around the needs, wants and foodie dreams of the Canteen and Brewing team – we grow what they want to cook and brew with. The Farm lead is responsible for all things concerning the farm’s daily operations – from seed to harvest – as well as for the overall management and seasonal planning. The farm lead is additionally responsible for overseeing the farm crew and volunteers, and for coordinating with the Canteen and Brewing crews.
3 years minimum experience working on small-medium, organic vegetable farms
Be highly self-motivated and self-directed
Have a high attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities
Willing and able to work in all weather conditions
Able to lift and carry 25kg minimum
Experience with orchard care, beekeeping, grain production and livestock care are all assets
