SATURDAY, AUGUST 10TH

We had our 4th Annual Sour Beer, Art + Music Festival this year and it was AWESOME! It isn’t your big-time, conference centre, name-tag wearing, beer festival. It’s a small group of lively, passionate breweries getting together on our magical beer lawn to share mouth-watering sour beers, showcase talented local musicians, and celebrate arts in the open, summer air! While the rain came down in the morning during setup, everyone’s spirits were high getting stoked for the day!

There was an amazing Sour Beer bar with beer by some of our sour-beer brewing friends: Townsite Brewing in Powell River BC, Temporal Ales in Vancouver BC, Twin Sails in Port Moody BC, House of Funk in North Vancouver, Dageraad in Burnaby BC, Parkside in Port Moody BC, Wild Ambition in Kelowna BC, and us (obviously).

While enjoying beer, we had a few local artists displaying their art as well, by: Brigid Dunning had paintings of the earth and landscapes, Joy Kinna had her beautiful abstract paintings in larger formats, Sierra Rempel had prints of her film photos taken during her travels, Abbey Flom had frames of her block-out poetry, Brit Cardinal was making lino prints, PLUS a live painting by Lianne Mitchell, and a live drawing from Elaine Deng. This was a new aspect added to Field Day Fest and we’re SO happy we did!
–
We had special Food + Drink guests as well with our friends Banter Ice Cream, Max + Connor Brewing cold brew coffee, as well as our own pop-up BBQ.
–
Throughout the day there was a KILLER local music lineup, starting with Cassidy Waring + Sam Balson, then Rap/Spoken Word by Saint Solider w/ Rózsa, followed by Jillian Lake, Ryan McAllister, and Jenny Banai. Our headlining musical artist was Jordan Klassen! The day finished with a dance party on the lawn led by DJ Teen Daze
